| Yes it has been an insanely long time since i have written on this thing called xanga. Life a funny thing, because well it just is. Lets see I have been busy, have'nt we all. I still live in Juareez, MX. I still teach st grade at a school there. And I still love it. Let's see Christmas. It's Chrsitmas time, and that means its crazy time. Umm...so I just got home , to Ohio, and I have been relaxing. Because before getting on my [plane the previous 2 weeks have been somthing else. There were parties to be had at school , in the home and every where. Last Saturday the kids opened their presents. This was such a high becuae all of the kids of the children's home had at least 2-3 present. Then they all opened them at the same time. It was definietly a blast. THen I spent all day sat. helping little 5 year old boys put together theri toy cars, and playing Barbiess with the little girls. then on Snu. was the Christmas presentation. Which was basically a lot of dnacing, and evevy kd fm the hanage patcipatd. it was very cute. And I got to dance in the presentation. THen last Weds. we had a party at the school were we sang Christmas carols at the church (each grade presented) so first grade did a Christmas carol but like a black gospel choir, it was incredble they wore sunglasses. Also we ate tamales! Which I guess is what Mexicans do on Christmas. THey were delicious. the previous week I had helped make them. We actually made them to about 12 midnight. Gotta love tamales!!!!!! so yes Christmas festivatees were numeuos. Now I am home and have slept in to 1pm. Yes...and it was great, and I am planning on wathching hundred of hours of Christmas movies. that should be great. And hopefluuy I can get the Christmas tree up soon. Well thats all for now. Hello again world of xanga

| That title really has nothing to do with what I am about to write. I just thought it was funny. Ok lets see. Summer is about over I start back to work on Monday. I love kids and I love being a teacher, but I also love summer breaks
I know that I am a spoiled brat, to even begin to complain that the summer was not long enough. Because most of you working people have to work almost 365 days of the year. But, since I do get a break, I always wich it were longer. I feel like there so many things I still want to do, and really that I still need to do.
Summer recap. Well...I travelled a lot. I went home to Toldeo, went to Michigan, went to Florida. Then for the most part I was in Juarez. Here I cooked, cleaned, translated for American groups, helped out with fiestas, my Hip Hop grouped danced a few times, taught Sunday school (Quck interlude: my last lesson was on the fruits of the Spirit, I am very proud to say that it went really well. I had the the kids act out the different fruits, adn then we had fruit relays...woo hoo they were incredible, I mhad the kids push banans across the floor, then had to eat the banana. After that they had a race with apples, where one child started withthe apple in their mouth ran to the other side and back and then passed the apple off only using thier teeth. That was incredible there were aplles flying everywhere, along with saliva, and laughing children!), so yes oh and I danced a a couple of quincieneras (sp?) with Que Su Pueblo, (the churhces dance team), and hung out with Blake Stice and some other great people.
Oh and I almost went to jail. Because I was in a bad car accident here in Mexico. Its a long story better told in person.
The lastest thing that I did was help out at a Summer Dance Intensive. For those of you not was well-versed i n the dance community it is pretty much like a "Dance Camp." It was a blast, and tons of work. Ok so I translated most ofthe day, lead worship at night, and then I was a counselor in the dorms. I learned a lot of French ballet terms!
I guess that is all for right now. | | |
| "please post a fictional memory of you and i. it can be anything you want, good or bad,but it has to be fake. when you're finished, post this little paragraph on your xanga and be surprised (or mortified) about what people don't actually remember about you."

-
Then I took a vacation, actually I am currently on the vacation
So uptodate ( I love how I just made all those words one word) Ok so yes I am on my vacation right now adn I gotta say I love my life, I love my friends, I love my family. And I will tell you why
I flew in last Monday to Detroit, Michigan and stayed up their with one of my best friends Emily Tiley (soon to be Tovar) lifes a funny beast! So yes, I went to a bridal shower for her, and the few days I was around her I coined the phrase that she was getting bridaled and showered. THe girl had at least 80 billion katrillion bridal showers. BUt, that a terrific thing to be loved by lots and lots of people. With Em, we went swimming, shopping, to showers, out for icecream, rented a movie, looked at wedding dresses, and laid around the house. Well then, that Thurs., I flew down to Miami, Florida to see my other best friend Chantelle Todman. I gotta tell ya she a keeper. We went to a Cuban restaurant, danced Salsa, walked around Downtown Disney, moved her family from Miami to Orlando, and went and walked around the downtown area down there.
So I left there on Tues. and I will be here in Toledo, Ohio until next Monday when I will fly back to Juarez, Mexico.
God Bless America and Save the Queen! (another querky phrase I coined)
Lets see if I have anything deep to discuss, I guess there are always things. I will devote this snippet to my bro. THose of you who know my brother, could agree with me, he is a great guy. Its a strange and beautiful phenomon the whole sibling thing. But, I must say I have a great one, he's my only one, and he is a keeper. I am so pround of him! He just got back from a mission trip to Sri Lanka (not to insult intelligences, but the country of Sri Lanka is an island located off of India). So he was an Assistant Team Leader, which is something just great and a huge priveledge and honor to be. THe man has a huge heart and I can't wiat to see what things God has in store for him. My brother just got back from our god-cousins, and cousins, and friends of the family's houses. He was giving Christian rap CD's to the boys, he was ministering to them because some of them are not doing so well. I really admire my little bro! He rocks my face right off!

| Ok so I am currently on Spring Break. You know what that has meant for Katrina, today I flew into Toledo, Ohio and ate some of my dad's organic food, ate some ice, watched a ton of TV and now I am on xanga!! Woo hoo not that's what I call Spring Break, and next activity on the list is sleep, and we're not talking the kinda sleep where you have responsibilities and have to set that blasted alarm thing, I'm talking the kinda of sleep where if I don't wake up for a couple of days, thats ok! Its my Spring Break!!!!
So Hmmm...lets see I miss my kids already though, and all my Mexican family. I will get to see them in 2 weeks, right now I am at home.
Well and about that whole concept anyways, where is home really? I have a place to sleep at a lot of people's house's but that's not my home, and so I am left feeling homeless, but I definitely and not rubbing my hands together over a large trash bin with fire coming out of it, or holding up a piece of cardboard to find work. Because like I said I have a lots of homes. Maybe that's it, are we supposed to just have one home. At this point of my life, I don't know the answer to that. Even in the future, will I want to do that whole settling down thingy? I don't know. I think what has been exampled for my life for the most part is the whole settling down thingy. But I think I am always going to want to be in lots of places, maybe its because I'm in my 20 somethings, but maybe its not.
So I guess thats all, and I will end with this. I love Mexican Easter parties at school, we ate nachos with lots of jalepenos, wrote a story about what Easter means to us, and hunted Easter eggs, (the kids that is) I supervised, and ate a lot of nachos, and shared nachos with some of my kids because they threw their plates away and then wanted more. Oh and the best was as I was leaving, my co-teacher comments to me, "it smells like nachos in here." and much to our surpise we opened several of the kids desk, and OOPS we found some nachos stowed away, nachos that would have grown fungi over the 2 week break!
Viva Mexico!
